MAC reaches the finals for the second time in2017-03-10
After two games in the MOL League semifinals MAC Budapest has a two games to zero lead over Debrecen
Sean Escobedo was back in the lineup since he picked up an injury in the first game against Fehérvár. However missing from the lineup was Erik Keresztury, Bence Bálizs started in net. Krisztián Nagy opened up the scoring after a Drew Olson shot went wide of the net, Nagy picked the puck off of the backboard and went short side with the shot. Debrecen tied the game up on the next shift. In the second period Bronson Kovács put MAC up by two goals when he scored off of the power play. Áron Könczei scored from close range with Krisztián Nagy scoring his second of the game to give MAC a 4-1 lead after two periods. In the third period Kristóf Schmál picked up and injury and had to leave the game. Both Bronson Kovács and Csaba Kovács scored when they redirected shots only 24 seconds apart.
Bence Bálizs was in the net, Erik Kerestury was back from injury, however Kristóf Schmál and Tamás Pozsgai were unable to play. Balázs Somogyi was sitting out a one game suspension. Roland Vokla opened up the scoring with a shot from the blueline. Debrecen tied the game up early in the second period but MAC got their offense going. Just after the midway point of the game Csaba Kovács set up Áron Könczei for the go ahead goal. Later in the period Csaba Kovács scored from the right face off dot to give MAC a two goal lead. Before the period was over Vladimir Nikiforov sliced through the slot and put one past the goalie. Krisztián Nagy tacked one on in the third period to give MAC a 5-1 win.
