MAC Budapest – Dunaújváros: 2-32017-09-16
MAC Budapest has strengthened their defensive unit as they picked up national team player Jesse Dudás for the season.
MAC has two wins in the ERSTE Liga and they defeated DVTK in their first Hungarian Cup game, despite this the MAC management has decided to strengthen their team with the former NHL draft pick.
Jesse Dudás hails from Alberta, Canada and played his junior years in the WHL with Lethbridge, Prince George, Swift Current and Regina. In 2006 he was the 159th pick overall in the NHL draft when the Columbus Blue Jackets took him in the 6th round. He played professional in the IHL, CHL and the ECHL before he came to Europe to play for Miskolc where he won a MOL League title with current MAC Head Coach Gergely Majoross. After a second league title and a Hungarian national team debut he left to play for TPS in Finland. Unfortunately a shoulder injury cut his time in Finland short. Dudás came back to Hungary where he finished the season in Debrecen. In the offseason he signed with Nové Zámky and played the preseason with them, things did not work out there. This unfortunate situation he great for MAC as he now joins the team on the hunt for an ERSTE Liga title.
Why did you decide to join MAC Budapest?
Things did not work out in Slovakia, the way I had hoped. MAC is a professional organization and they really treat their players well and they take care of you. I just wanted a comfortable situations where I only have to concentrate on hockey. I have a chance to work hard all year and get into top form.
How did your offseason preparation go this year?
I didn’t play in the World Championships in April because I had another surgery on my shoulder, it was a long recovery but I have regained my shoulder strength. I worked hard the past twelve weeks. In Slovakia we went 35 days straight and I am ready to go. I had three surgeries in the past season, mentally it was tiring but now I am all fresh.
What has Gergely Majoross told you about what he expects from you?
There are a lot of great players here and also a lot of young players as well. He wants me to be a leader and that I do all the right things
