MAC-Brasov 0-1 (SO)
The high flying scoring offense that MAC had coming into the weekend ran into a speed bump on Friday night as they struggled to score a goal. With problems on the front end the backside held up its own as Bence Bálizs and the defense did not allow a goal. Head coach Gergely Majoross continued to juggle his two goalies as Bálizs stopped all 21 shots he faced, Brasov happened to have former MAc forward and current league leader Tomas Klempa on their roster. MAC kepte the Brasov shots on goal in each period to single digits as the shots were 2-9-8 in the three periods. Brasov goalie László Tőke deserves some praise as well as he stopped all 56 shots faced. The games was decided in a shootout with the first shooter, Roberto Gliga being the only one to score.
Csaba Kovács, team captain: I don’t think we had that killer instinct today that we usually have when we complete our scoring chances. After winning so many games lately our concentration might have dropped a bit, we had games like this in the past but we usually managed to find a goal late in the game and would end up winning. We need to create more traffic in front of the opposing goalie for the next game.
