After the first two games of the MOL League finals MAC and DVTK have both won a game.
Game1: DVTK-MAC 5-4 OT
MAC went with the MOL League goalie of the year Bence Bálizs innet, Kristóf Schmál was back from injury and Drew Olson back from suspension. The first goal was not scored until late in the first period as DVTK went up 1-0. Less than a minute later Gergő Nagy moved the puck back up to the blue line where Roland Vokla put a shot on net that the DVTK goalie did not see. Just like in the first period DVTK took a one goal lead late in the second period. In the final minute of the period DVTK went up 3-1 off of a back door pass went off of Bálizs and into the back of the net. With only seconds to go MAC got one back when Bronson Kovács sent a frozen rope down to Vladimir Nikiforov, who was wide open in front of the DVTK set for the tap in. Early in the period DVTK scored from low in the slot to go up by two goals. In the final minutes of the game, Jon Booras scored off of a one timer to make it a one goal game. In the final seconds Sean Escobedo scored from the blue line to send the game into overtime. In the extra session DVTK come out on top to take the series opener.
Game 2: MAC-DVTK 3-0
The home team started Bence Bálizs in net, Bence Bödök was back in the lineup for Arnold Silló, Kristóf Schmál was missing. MAC took the lead in the twelfth minute of the game when Balázs Somogyi skated in on a breakaway and fired the puck between the legs of the goalie for the score. Just over a minute later MAC doubled their lead when Jeff Jubenville centered a pass to István Terbócs who backhanded it past the goalie. MAC went up 3-0 on the power play when Bronson Kovács put a rebound in. The score remained the same throughout the rest of the second and the third period as Bálizs went the distance for the shutout win as the series is tied up at 1-1.
