MAC-DHK 6:1 – Fölényes hazai győzelem az elődöntő első mérkőzésén!2017-03-02
MAC Budapest needed five games to get past Fehérvár in the first round of the MOL League playoffs. The same team they faced in the semifinals last season defeated in seven game.
The team was still without Sean Escobedo, who was on the bench this time helping out the coaching staff, Bence Bálizs started in net. MAC scored first when Jon Booras tapped in a rebound off of a Jeff Jubinville shot. In the final minute of play in the first period MAChad a two man advantage that they capitalized on when Gergő Nagy was posted down low by the goal, took the puck, skated around and lifted it over the shoulder of the goalie. Fehérvár made it a one goal game in the second period when they stuffed in a puck on the power play. At the midway point of the game MAC went back up by two goals when Bronson Kovács put in a puck that went off the goal post and was sitting on the goal line ready to be tapped in. Bence Bálizs stood tall in the second half of the game as MAC picked up the 3-1 win and spot in the semi finals.
Bronson Kovács: It is always nice to close out the series early, it was a pretty hard fought battle will three straight games going into overtime, where we know games can go either way. Bálizs stood tall for us in the entire series, he shut the door for us. I was productive during the series because my teammates happened to find me in the right places, couple of the goals were just tap in where they found my tape and thankfully they went in. I am not a goal scorer but it is always nice to help out when you can.
