MAC Budapest had a relatively relaxed match week as they had only one game, which happened to be against cross town rivals UTE.
After the international break, MAC didn’t have to travel far for their first game as they took on UTE. Head coach Gergely Majoross gave Bence Bálizs the start in net with Chris Bodó playing his first game for MAC. After a scoreless first period that did get a bit chippy at the end, the scoring opened up in the second 20 minutes.
MAC scored first off of a long shot from the blueline by defenseman Zsombor Garát to give MAC the 1-0 lead. Minutes later UTE tied the game up with a power play goal at 1-1. Later in the period Bronson Kovács was called for elbowing and was tossed from the game. Because of this he has been suspended for one game and will have to miss the Hungarian Cup game against Dunaújváros. Before the period was UTE ahd flipped the score as they made it 2-1 heading into the final period.
In the opening minutes of the third period UTE opened up a two goal lead with a power play goal to go up 3-1. In the closing minutes of the game Balázs Somogyi scored a power play goal from the slot to get MAC back within one goal. In the end UTE defeated MAC by the score of the 3-2.
