Tight battle against UTE in Hungarian Cup game

MAC traveled across town to take on UTE for their second Hungarian Cup qualifying game. Head coach Gergely Majorss was without Winston Day Chief however Áron Könczei was back in the lineup. Gergely Arany started in net as Bence Bálizs had the day off. A scoreless first period was followed up by a a back and forth second period where any time MAC took the lead UTE struck back to tie the game up. Jeff Jubinville setup Krisztián Nagy for the opening goal, to which András Benk answered back for UTE, minutes later Nagy scored to put MAC up 2-1 however in the last minute of the period Ladislav Sikorcin tied the game up at 2-2. The intensity level of the game increased as the minutes came off the clock. With ten minutes left in the game Könczei was called for a spearing for which he got 20+5. Sikorcin did not like this and the two players decided to drop the gloves, for this Áron received a second 20+5 as both players were sent to the locker room early. In the overtime session Balázs Somogyi flipped the puck over a sprawled Olivér Ágoston for the game winner.

Krisztián Nagy, forward: The Hungarian Cup is an important trophy and is a part of the season. Every team started with a clean slate and now everyone has a chance to get revenge on a previous loss. We started off a it slow but we picked it up and started to be more aggressive as the game went on, in the end we picked up the win.
