This past match week MAC Budapest played their second game of the Hungarian Cup group stage. Later in the week 9 MAC players represented Hungary in a game against Poland during the 90th Anniversary celebration of Hungarian hockey.
Head Coach Gergely Majoross started Gergely Arany in net in the place of the injured Bence Bálizs, Boldizsár Győri served as the backup goalie. The game was scorless until UTE scored on the man advantage late in the opening period. MAC struck back in the second period with a power play goal from themselves as well with Jesse Dudás finding the back of the net. The two teams entered the final period all tied up at 1-1. Újpest took back the lead with a power play goal and less than a minute later they were up by two scores. The game started to get chippy as Wes Cunningham had picked up 14 minutes of penalties, Erik Keresztury had 25 minutes. In the end Újpest ended up picking up the three points in the Hungarian Cup group stage.
The 90th anniversary celebration started off with the Sapporo Heros defeating Finland 6-5, thanks to 2 goals by MAC Head Coach Gergely Majoross and 2 by former MAC team captain Csaba Kovács.
For the game against Poland Gergely Arany served as the backup goalie. The game started off a bit slow with both teams trying to get on top of the new systems they were playing. In the second period Keegan Dansereau opened up the scoring with Gergő Nagy and Bronson Kovács picking up the assists. After Hungary was up 2-0 Brance Orbán scored twice, the first time off of the pass from Krisztián Nagy with the second one from István Terbócs. The score was 4-1 as the teams headed into the third period. A final unassisted goal was scored by Gergő Nagy to set the final at 5-1.
