MAC Budapest turned to a familiar friend to strengthen the blueline as Drew Olson has signed for the remainder of the season.
“I've been working back in Minnesota the past couple months and I enjoyed my job but playing hockey for a living is the best job you could ask for. I missed playing the game and wanted to make a comeback.” said Olson when asked what he has been doing since the end of last season.
The idea had come up that the American defenceman would be back for the start of the season but he decided to stay in Minnesota. “I knew I wanted to come back to MAC because I loved playing here so it was a pretty easy decision.” said Olson about coming back to Budapest.
“I think it's an easier transition. I know the coaching staff and most of the players. I know the city and I'm comfortable here. When I don't have to focus on a new town and new coaches, I can focus on playing hockey and hopefully be able to help the team out right away.”
Last season the former Columbus Blue Jacktes draft pick had 13 goals and 25 assists in 41 games along with five points in the playoffs.
